Saturday morning started with temperatures in the low 30s and wind at 10-14 knots from the north/northwest leaving Austin with a wind-chill around 25 degrees. Due to the weather, races were postponed until 1100 to wait for the air temperature to rise. Races commenced at 1200 as the temperature was rising and the wind was decreasing. The breeze stayed steady out of the north/northwest at 9-12 knots. Six races were completed in each division.
Collegiate sailors also shared the race course with the Vanguard 15 fleet who brought 9 boats. Thank you for coming out and showing us such a great competitive fleet.
Thank you to our PRO Steve Gay and our mark-set team of Charlie Arnold and Kent Phillips.
Congratulations to LSU for their win.

First practice tomorrow! We're meeting in the church parking lot next to Kinsolving. Kinsolving is the dorm at the northeast corner of Dean Keeton and Whitis. The church parking lot is NEXT to Kinsolving, NOT ACROSS from Kinsolving. I look forward to seeing everyone!

Alumni Regatta is this weekend! Report time is 10 am. We are going to start the day off with food, then get some races going. The weather prediction says wind is going to be light and the temperature is hot. Can't wait to see everyone!
The trip to Boston was really exciting. We sailed in Boston harbor in light shifty conditions. They only managed to sail 8 races per division. Texas came in 15th overall, with some strong finishes. We owe a thanks to TAMUG for de-rigging our boat on Sunday afternoon so we could make it to the airport on time.
We had a good weekend in New Orleans. We did not qualify for nationals, but congrats to Tulane, we know they will represent SEISA well. Next weekend is semi-nationals in Boston. We are sailing in the western half with OU, while TAMUG and Tulane sail east.
Sail Fast!
This spring has been a busy season. We have attended eight regattas over the past ten weeks. Last week we tabled for twelve hours and met some great people. We have women's district champs this weekend, team racing the next, and semi-finals in Boston the weekend after. A big thanks to our alumni Barrett Fontenot, Henry May, and Jessie Dawson who have made it out to the lake to help us this semester.
This weekend was district championships here at Austin Yacht Club. With ten teams showing up, it was a very competitive weekend. Saturday had winds in the morning of 15 knots, slowing to 7 knots in the afternoon. Sunday had winds from 17 to 25 knots. We sailed 10 races in each division. Congratulations to Tulane for finishing first. University of Texas finished in second with A&M Galveston close behind. Oklahoma University pulled out fourth and final place for dinghy semi-finals in Boston on May 2nd and 3rd.
